Since the GDPR came into force, organisations have had to keep up with multiple developments including new regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, international data transfer rules, and evolutions in privacy laws and regulations throughout the world. The UK left the EU, a new Information Commissioner was appointed, and changes to the UK's post-Brexit data protection regime were announced. This has cast doubt on the future of the UK’s adequacy status with the EU and raised concerns about the implications for UK organisations as well as multinationals.
This seminar will take stock of where organisations are on their data protection journey. It will also discuss recent privacy developments and consider what the future holds for data protection in the UK, taking into account the UK government’s proposed post-Brexit reforms.
